LOS ANGELES, USA // Tom is Head of Business Development for the Gaming and VR verticals at Create Advertising in Culver City. He is responsible for evangelizing the videogame trailer and VR capabilities of the company as well as setting the course for his division’s expanding web design and key art offerings.

Tom got his start in the industry by reviewing games for one of the nation’s most esteemed newspapers, The Washington Post. From there he went on to CNET Gamecenter and helped launch Ziff-Davis’ GameSpot. After being published online, Tom continued to broaden his scope of coverage, breaking ground in consumer as well as enthusiast markets. He was a regular contributor to USA Today, Newsweek and The New York Daily News. He’s also been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Rolling Stone, Details, Maxim, Playboy, Next Generation, Electronic Gaming Monthly and GamePro. He has also been an E3 Game Critic Judge for over ten years (1998 till 2007).

After leaving videogame editorial, Tom went on to television production. He worked for four years at Mark Burnett Productions in their Business Development Group where he assisted in brand integration deals and oversaw product placement on over a dozen television shows. After his time at Burnett, he went onto All3Media America where he oversaw all brand integration and corporate outreach across all their properties, including the Emmy Award winning show, Undercover Boss.

Prior to coming to Create Advertising, Tom was Head of Publisher Relations at Machinima, a leading multi-channel network (MCN) that specializes in gaming related content distributed across several platforms including YouTube, Xbox, PlayStation and mobile. While at Machinima, he created the highly successful “Early Access” program for top YouTubers to gain access to games before launch.

A graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, he is active within education – mentoring students and participating on various panels for gaming and VR.
