LOS ANGELES, USA // Emnet Mulugeta is a director, creative director and designer working in advertising, digital and broadcast. His work has been awarded in the Cannes Lions, Promax and numerous film festivals worldwide. Emnet heads up the LA-outpost of Brokendoll, a multidisciplinary design driven production company.
Emnet, born in Eritrea, began his career as an art director and animator at the post production company The Chimney Pot, based in Stockholm, Sweden, where he worked on a wide selection of projects, including music videos, print graphics and installations.
In 2002 Emnet joined motion and design studio Visual Art in Stockholm, working with brands like Volvo, Nokia, Canal+. He quickly rose to the role of Creative Director at the age of 26 leading creative teams on TV-rebrands and promos across Europe resulting in numerous swedish and international awards. This success lead to recognition and work in the US, where he wrote and directed commercials and promos for FX, Showtime, HBO, TNT among others, most notably award-winning promos for the acclaimed show Nip/Tuck. Over the years he's developed an affinity for an eccentric mix of cultures and visual expression.
Emnet earned his degree in Graphic Design from University of South Australia in Adelaide, during which time he was awarded for his motion graphics work at the acclaimed annual AGideas design conference in Melbourne, Australia. Emnet currently resides in Venice, CA with his wife Eva and their two boys.
