NEW YORK, USA // Valerie Lasser is a Senior Editor at Big Sky Edit, a state of the art film-editing boutique in NYC.  

Cutting commercials for over 20 years with agencies such as Y&R, McCann, Publicis, McGarry Bowen, GS&P, Arnold, AFG&.  

As a creative partner with Ogilvy, Valerie cut the AICE “Best of NY” nominated American Express ad “Members Projects” which explored the history of the brand utilizing footage from 50 years of archives. 

Winner at the 2011 AICE Awards for the Bryan Buckley directed short “No Autographs”, led to more doc style projects including Elizabeth Arden’s “Her Story” web content, Verizon’s “Potential Of Us” campaign, and GLAAD’s Southern Stories Series”.   

Feature film work includes "Eavesdrop", “The Independent”, supervising sound editor on the Jerry Seinfeld documentary "Comedian”, additional editing on the Sydney Pollack film "Sketches of Frank Gehry", and many other postproduction credits.

During her career as an editor she has been dedicated to teaching the craft.  She is a key player in the AICE’s annual Camp Kuleshov competition for assistant editors.  

Active volunteer for many non-profits such as Reel Works, and PrePro mentoring up and coming talent in the world of postproduction with the tools and mindset needed for success in today’s industry.   

Part of what drives her creativity is the spontaneity and support of her family.  With a husband, two sons, and a new puppy there is never a dull moment.  

Huge supporter of animal rescue, and the North Shore Animal League.
