TORONTO, CANADA // Fernando is a Colombian creative director based in Toronto, Canada. He began his career as a designer freelance, entering its first advertising agency (Foote, Cone & Belding) in 2002, where he was a graphic designer until 2004. That same year began his career at Leo Burnett Colombia first as a graphic designer, then as an art director.

In 2007 was promoted to Creative Director and in 2011 was promoted as one of the General Creative Directors of the agency. After 11 years working for the company he got transferred to Leo Burnett Toronto where he’s now one of the Group Creative Directors of the office.

So far, he has managed local and regional major brands in different markets in Latin America and North America such as IKEA, Procter & Gamble, Kraft (US & Canada), DirecTV, Samsung, Chrysler, SAB Miller, Diageo, Coca-Cola, Kellogg's, McDonald's, UN, El Comercio Newspaper (Peru), KIA Motors, SC Johnson, Falabella, Davivienda Bank, Alpina Food Co., Vice-presidency of the Republic of Colombia, Colombian Red Cross, Colombian League against cancer and WWF, among others.

He’s obtained different awards and recognitions in almost every advertising award show such as Cannes Lions, The One Show, D&AD, Clio, London International Awards, New York Festivals, Effie, FIAP (Latam), El Sol, (Spain) Wave in Rio (Brazil), Ojo de Iberoamérica (Argentina), APAP (Perú), and El Dorado (Colombia). 

One of the most important achievements was leading the team who won the first Gran Prix in the history of Colombia at Cannes Health Lions in 2014.
