Sabine Heckman
Creative Director
FCB Africa

CAPETOWN, SOUTH AFRICA // Born and raised in Cape Town, Sabine’s love for creativity started at an early age. Attending The Red and Yellow School she was proud to have been one of the last graduates under the head of Brian Searl-Tripp and Alan Raaff.

In her 20 years in the industry, she has spanned a range of focused communication from traditional ATL through to multiple BTL media. Working at international agencies and winning various awards along the way, Saatchi & Saatchi and TBWA, gave her the opportunity to work on African and Middle-eastern brands including Guinness, Woolworths and Sanlam.

Being appointed to Deputy Creative Director at FCB Cape Town allowed her to grow her interests in strategy and experiential marketing, while working on some of South Africa's favourite brands including Savanna, Amarula, Fish Eagle, Momentum and Santam.

Her move to CRM, allowed her to speak social media, digital and direct marketing and share a vision of 'putting the consumer at the heart of all conversations'; embracing the daily challenge of breathing life into Johnnie Walker, Bell's Whisky, Classic Malts Selection, Investec, General Motors and Levi's brands on various media platforms.

She represented South Africa as a judge at the 2011 John Caples International Awards in New York. Opening up as a keynote speaker at the 2012 CEM Summit in Cape Town, after the Minister of Finance, Economic Development & Tourism, Alan Winde, is just one of the many opportunities she has embraced.

Her passion for people and finding creative solutions to business and brand challenges continued at Mustard Seed Relationship Marketing as a Creative Director, where shopping malls and retail became the constant challenge and success of the day.

As the Creative Director at Ogilvy & Mather, RedWorks South Africa, she was able to progress her career. With numerous wins on pitches she shared her knowledge and experience to build and grow the creative offering. Ensuring RedWorks is at the cutting edge of advertising solutions as the economy is evolving. Shape shifting constantly to enrich and engage in new opportunities.

With changes within the Ogilvy & Mather network the RedWorks creative team became part of Geometry Global where shopper marketing was the main focus. FCB offered Sabiné the challenging opportunity to grow the experiential offering with the main focus being retail and consumer engagement-centric communications.
