NEW YORK, USA // With nearly two decades of global marketing and music industry experience, John Fleckenstein joined RCA in January of 2015 as Executive Vice President of the label.    In this role, he is responsible for the development, creation and execution of global marketing campaigns for the label’s star-studded roster. 

John currently oversees RCA’s Domestic Marketing, Sales, Digital, International, Video and Creative teams.

RCA Records is the second oldest recorded music label in America and remains one of the largest major labels in America. 

John began his career in the late 90’s promoting college radio for Ruffhouse Records in Philadelphia working with the likes of Lauryn Hill, Fugees, and Cypress Hill.

He then joined Arista Records, at the time run by the legendary executive Clive Davis.  During his tenure, he spearheaded marketing campaigns for albums such as Whitney Houston My Love Is Your Love, TLC Fanmail and the multi-Grammy Award winning Santana Supernatural, which went on to sell over 25 million copies worldwide.

In 2001, he moved to Sydney, Australia to run Marketing & Promotion for BMG’s Asia-Pacific Region. Together with his new team, he achieved a number of major artist breakthroughs within the region such as Foo Fighters’ multiplatinum One By One and Avril Lavigne’s debut album which went on to sell nearly 2 million albums in Japan alone.

In 2003, he returned to the U.S. to establish BMG’s Global Marketing team out of NY where he helped redesign the company’s worldwide marketing organization.

A year later, he returned to the creative side of the business, being appointed SVP, International for Jive Records. In this role, he lead many successful campaigns for artists like Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, R. Kelly, Tool and others.  

In 2007, his role expanded when he added international responsibilities for RCA Records, rising to Executive Vice President, International for the RCA Label Group. 

In 2011, John ultimately went on to oversee Sony Music’s entire International Marketing organization as Executive Vice President, International.  Leading a team based in both New York and London, John spearheaded marketing for all of Sony Music’s US-signed artists spanning the rosters of Columbia, Epic and RCA. 

John and his team went on to orchestrate some of the industry’s most innovative international campaigns such as Daft Punk’s ground breaking Random Access Memories,  BeyoncĂ©’s surprise release BEYONCE, Justin Timberlake’s tour de force The 20/20 Experience,  and Miley Cyrus’ explosive Bangerz.

John graduated from University of Michigan with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics.
