LEBANON // A former pirate radio DJ, theatre director, and TV news anchorman, Naja joined J. Walter Thompson in 1994, before returning to Beirut in 2OO1. He was appointed Chief Creative Officer for Middle East and North Africa (MENA) in 2OO4.
He was named Chief Creative Officer for Middle East and Africa in 2O12. Under Naja’s stewardship, the J. Walter Thompson MENA network became one of most awarded networks in the region, with first-time and regular international recognition at Dubai Lynx, D&AD, One Show, IPG, London International Awards, New York Festivals and Cannes Lions amongst others. The network was voted Network of the Year in 2OO8 and 2OO9, and most effective network in 2O14.
In 2O15 the Cairo team won the agency its first Titanium Lion at Cannes; and in 2O16 the MENA Network won Network of the Year at Dubai Lynx with a record breaking 5 Grand Prix awards. At Cannes Lions in 2018, the Casablanca team won the first Lions of any agency in Morocco, crowing the achievement with a Gold Lion.
