Bruno Aveillan

PARIS, FRANCE // Bruno Aveillan was born in Toulouse, France where he attended the Toulouse School of Fine Arts. Early in his career, Bruno worked as an art director for Ogilvy and Publicis in Paris. By the mid-90s, he made the transition into a commercial director shooting spots for clients including Time Warner, Thermasilk, Nintendo, Nissan, Acura, Perrier. Bruno has also co-directed spots with Martin Scorsese and Oliver Stone for audiences overseas.

To create his cinematic style, Bruno goes back to his painting roots, emphasizing drawing, research, and studying the works of classic artists. His smooth blend of the artistic and groundbreaking special effects has made Bruno's spots memorable to viewers worldwide. Bruno's first major recognition came in 1998 with an award-winning spot for Perrier, in which he brought a fresh, fantastical approach to a traditional brand. His epic Thermasilk spot and then Nintendo "Symphony" garnered well-deserved acclaim as well.  His attention to detail and artistic sensibility have landed him many high-profile spots and left an impression on viewers, critics, and the industry trades alike. He's directed awe-inspiring short films for Louis Vuitton, Swarovski Crystals and Guerlain, and made highly broadcast spots for ASICS and Samsung, and Audi, among many others. 

Bruno made a major splash in the industry directing "Odyssey de Cartier," celebrating 165 years of Cartier, the spot/short film was the brand's most epic and sumptuous spot to date, and won numerous awards, including a Gold Lion at Cannes.

Among Bruno's other awards are: Clio, New York Festivals, D&AD, Eurobest, London International, Grand Prix Imagina, ADC Global, AICP, Spike, Ad Fest, Epica, Mobius, Andy Awards, Club des Directeurs Artstiques.
