NEW YORK, USA // As Senior Vice President, Marketing & Communications for the New York Mets, David Newman is responsible for the strategic development and management of the Mets' branding, image-building, marketing and business communications initiatives to drive and support ticket sales, partner activation, and fan value.
His group develops all content for the organization, including advertising, promotions, broadcasting, digital and social media/publishing, creative services, publicity, events, and in-game entertainment.
He joined the Mets in 2005. Newman previously was Managing Director of Marketing & Communications for the United States Tennis Association from 2001-2005. In this role, he led the promotion and publicity efforts for the U.S. Open.
His 35 years of sports and entertainment marketing experience also includes marketing-related positions with NFL Properties, MTV, and Madison Square Garden.
David graduated from Columbia University in 1983 and resides in Manhattan with his wife Lorraine.
