Diana Triana

BOGOTA, COLUMBIA // Diana is a Colombian creative who has worked for over 20 years in the advertising industry, during which she has also served as a professor, speaker, and juror at the world’s top festivals. She built her career at J. Walter Thompson, starting as the youngest copywriter, but ten years later, having become Creative Director, she accepted an offer to work at Sancho BBDO, where she spent the next two and a half years as Creative Director for Bancolombia.

During her career, Diana was recognized as a “Brand Pioneer”2008) and “High Potential Talent”2015). In 2012, she had the opportunity to work temporarily at SCPF Barcelona through a talent exchange program.

Diana has won many prestigious awards such as Cannes Lions, Effie, London International Awards, Clio, D&AD, El Sol, El Ojo de IberoamĂ©rica, El Dorado, and Colombia’s first Glass Lion with the campaign “Breastfeeding Mannequins,” which promotes the freedom of breastfeeding. However, the most special award for her was a global competition called Mofilm Cannes U12, which allowed her to travel the world making documentaries about children under the global Omo concept “Dirt is Good.”

She was also one of the lead creators of some of the most inclusive campaigns made by a bank, the first promoting the acceptance of same-sex couples and later the inclusion of women’s football in football-related promotions, among other things because she is a football fan, even though she plays it terribly.

In April 2016, she had the honor of being awarded Women to Watch Colombia, a recognition given to different women around the world for their contribution to the advertising industry. Two months later, she was selected from over 500 creatives in the industry to be part of the See It Be It program at Cannes, a program designed to change the ratio of female leaders in creative departments.

At the end of 2019, Diana was named Chief Creative Officer of McCann Colombia, a role that allowed her to help her office and clients stand out at Effie, The One Show, and in the top 5 of the Crema ranking, among others. Two years later, she was appointed by the network as Co-President of the Creative Leadership Council for McCann Latin America.

After almost a year-long sabbatical, Diana decided to return “to the field” as Chief Creative Officer of Dentsu Creative Colombia. Today, she is enjoying this new step, which allows her to work from the perspective of an agency with a technological and innovative DNA that is refreshingly new not only for her but for the entire industry.
