BERLIN, GERMANY // Dr. Martell Beck has been Head of Corporate Development, Marketing and Transport Policy at DB Cargo since June 2020. At DB Cargo, Beck was the initiator of a reorientation of internal and external communication. Campaigns such as “Freight belongs on rail” and a new tonality on social media channels according to the motto: “DB Cargo. We deliver the goods.” appeal to the public, employees and politicians alike in order to highlight the advantages of climate-friendly freight transport by rail and to gain supporters.
From 2012 to 2020, Beck was Head of Sales, Digitalisation and Marketing at Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG). There he developed the successful „Weil wir dich lieben“ (“Because we love you”) campaign, which enabled a fundamental reorientation of BVG’s communication with a digital focus.
For his work, he was awarded as „Kunde des Jahres“ (“Client of the Year”) by the Art Directors Club (ADC) in 2018 and as „Mann des Jahres Marketing“ (“Man of the Year Marketing”) by the trade magazine HORIZONT in 2022.Martell Beck was born in Heidelberg in 1972 and studied business administration in Trier and Mannheim. He received his doctorate in this field in 2002.
