TORONTO, CANADA // Helen is the President and Chief Creative Officer at Havas Worldwide Canada. With an agency mission of making meaningful connections between consumers and brands through creativity, media and innovation, Helen leads a multi-disciplinary team across offices in Toronto and Montreal. Her passion for design, technology and integrated branding has helped shape her career for nearly two decades.
Prior to joining Havas, Helen took a hiatus from the agency world and worked as a Creative Strategist at Facebook. As part of a small group of Global Strategists at Facebook’s internal Creative Shop, Helen worked with world's most recognized brands and agencies to help activate their ideas on the social platform, as well as on Instagram.
An industry veteran, Helen has worked at agencies including Saatchi, Taxi, JWT, Ogilvy, and as Creative Director at Strawberryfrog in Amsterdam. At Ogilvy, Helen was on the global team for the highly recognized Dove Campaign for Real Beauty and launched the initiative in Canada. Under Helen’s leadership and management at Saatchi, the agency won the coveted ADCC Agency of the Year in Canada, with more awards won under her leadership than in the history of the agency.
Helen’s work has been recognized in all of the Canadian award shows, with international nods at Cannes, One Show, CA, the Webby's, as well as longer content films being recognized at Film Festivals including TIFF, Palm Springs and HotDocs. An advocate of using media and technology to unlock creative potential, her recent digital work for the Tourette Syndrome Foundation of Canada, "Surrender Your Say" on Twitter brought much needed awareness to the little known neurological disorder. It was also the first creative takeover of it’s kind on Twitter. Her work has also been recognized as business success stories in North America and Europe with clients including Toyota, Unilever, P&G, Novartis, American Express, Telus and Kraft.
Helen is active within the advertising and design community and also acts as a recurring mentor for several advertising schools and design associations. Prior to her career in advertising, Helen was a Governor General award winning Architect and graduated with honours from the School of Architecture at the University of Toronto.
