LOS ANGELES, USA // Jonathan Helfgot is VP of Films Marketing for Netflix, where he leads a team working with cross-functional partners to introduce Netflix Films to the global audience.
Before coming to Netflix in 2018, Jonathan was EVP, Worldwide Marketing for 20th Century Fox Films, where he oversaw marketing strategies across all Fox, Fox 2000, Blue Sky, Marvel, Chernin Entertainment and New Regency titles. In this role, Jonathan steered campaigns for War for the Planet of the Apes, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Murder on the Orient Express, The Greatest Showman, Maze Runner: The Death Cure and Deadpool 2.
Prior to returning to Fox in early 2017, Jonathan served as President of Marketing for Open Road Films, a leading independent film distribution company, where he led campaigns for the hit Jennifer Aniston/Julia Roberts comedy Mother’s Day, Oliver Stone’s controversial biopic Snowden, the popular YA drama Before I Fall produced in partnership with AwesomenessTV, and the Jamie Foxx action-thriller Sleepless.
Before joining Open Road, Jonathan was founder and managing partner of Rec Room, an original and branded content studio. Rec Room created non-traditional marketing campaigns for entertainment clients across all distribution platforms, including Fox, Netflix, Warner Bros, HBO, E!, Sony Pictures, Universal, Disney and FX, and was the winner of multiple industry awards, including Golden Trailers and Clio Key Art Awards for Original Content.
Before founding Rec Room, Jonathan served as Executive Vice-President, Worldwide Marketing for Anschutz Film Group, overseeing all marketing efforts for Walden Media, as well as managing Walden’s branding strategies across publishing, licensing, promotions, outreach, and new media. Between 2004 and 2011, Jonathan was Senior Vice President, Marketing Strategy & Research at 20th Century Fox, where he helped to craft and implement strategic marketing campaigns for over 150 films, including Avatar, Borat, The Devil Wears Prada, The Simpsons Movie, as well as multiple titles across the X-Men, Planet of the Apes, Ice Age, Night at the Museum, and Alvin and the Chipmunks franchises.
