MÉXICO CITY, MÉXICO // Karen has more than 25 years of experience in corporate communications and public relations. She is responsible for the agency Latin America network overseeing the operation of 18 Porter Novelli agencies in the region, as well as establishing working standards, business development and training for all the region.
As founder and managing director of the agency in Mexico from 1996 to 2006, Karen supervised all Porter Novelli accounts and was also in charge of client corporate counsel, crisis management, PR strategy, planning, training and key media relations. Under her leadership, the agency was named Agency of the Year in 2005 and 2006 in Mexico. She was appointed regional director for Latin America in 2007 and President for Latin America in June, 2013. In June 2018 we was appointed Managing Director for PN San Francisco, role that she covered until 2020.
Karen has led the work for regional clients in the tech, healthcare, food, logistics and consumer sectors working with teams across Latin America. She has managed big profile crisis in the travel, logistics and technology sectors including accidents, product recalls, labor issues and vaccination crisis during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Karen graduated from the Technological Institute of Superior Studies of Monterrey-Mexico City Campus in 1990 with a degree in business administration–computer systems. In 2000 she completed an advanced management program at IPADE Institute in Mexico City.
She was part of Mexican Magazine Expansion “Top Women in Business in Mexico” for 4 years in a row.
