NEW YORK, USA // Kathy Baker is a seasoned executive and proven leader with 20+ years of experience in digital content strategy, social media marketing, emerging technologies, community, and commerce. Kathy is currently Director, Head of US Label Partnerships at YouTube, where she and her team are responsible for partner development with major labels, adoption of YouTube products, and marketing support for priority music launches. By building trusted relationships, Kathy and her team work closely with label executives to develop and execute strategies that help music artists reach new audiences on YouTube.
Prior to joining YouTube, Kathy was SVP of Digital Marketing at Sony Music where she was responsible for the direction of digital strategy, from concept to execution, in support of Columbia Records’ business goals and strategic marketing. She and her team led digital marketing strategies for global superstars including Beyoncé, Adele, Pharrell Williams, John Legend, and many more.
Kathy entered the music industry in February 2000 as an Executive Producer and Production Manager of an internet start-up, AKA.com, The Music Network. Prior, she worked as a Project Manager for Johnson & Johnson from February 1997 through January 2000.
As a passionate advocate for the music industry and its artists, Kathy is a frequent speaker at industry events and has received multiple honors including Billboard Women In Music Top Executives and Billboard Hip Hop and R&B Power Players.
