LOS ANGELES, USA // An integral part of AvatarLabs since the company’s inception as employee number one, Laura brings more than 15 years of experience in digital advertising to her role of VP, Culture and Creative Services.
Laura has led the creative vision on a vast array of award-winning, innovative marketing campaigns including Netflix’s “Narcos”, HBO’s “Game of Thrones”, and Mattel’s Barbie Bubbletastic Mermaid. Laura oversees the team of talented artists who helped market blockbusters like WB’s “Wonder Woman”, Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast”, and Lionsgate’s “Hunger Games” franchise.
As technology and trends advance, she has brought her expertise into new media and social platforms, enjoying taking on new voices including that of the Boov for Dreamwork’s “Home.”
After graduating from RISD in ’00, Laura moved to Los Angeles excited to start a career in motion graphics and digital advertising. Over the years she has accumulated a broad collection of awards, including a Clio, Golden Addy, OMMA, DMAC, IAC, W3, Davey and Summit International. She spends most days creating strategic campaign proposals for existing and emerging technologies, overseeing a team of talented artists, and ensuring that as AvatarLabs continues to grow it maintains an environment of innovation, collaboration and positivity.
Outside of work, Laura spends most of her time throwing dance parties with a spunky preschooler and a proud recent Kindergarten graduate. Husband James Safechuck, AvatarLabs’ Director of Innovation and long-time veteran of the studio, serves as house tickle-monster and guitarist in the family band.
