PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC // Lenka Likarova is the Senior Visual Effects Producer at Universal Production Partners, a.s. in Prague, Czech Republic where she oversees all aspects of visual effects production on a variety of projects, from commercials to series television and big-budget features.
UPP is the leading Post and Visual Effects facility in central Europe having worked on films like TERMINATOR: DARK FATE, BLADE RUNNER 2049 (Academy Award-winner, Best Visual Effects), WONDER WOMAN, and THE WALK as well as television projects like Genius Season 1, for which Lenka was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Special and Visual Effects in a Supporting Role.
Over the years, Lenka has been involved in multiple projects which have received nominations from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, The Television Academy, The British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA), and The Visual Effects Society.
For her work in 2019 alone, she herself received two VES nominations; The first in the category of Visual Effects in a Commercial for her work as Visual Effects Supervisor on the video game spot Anthem: “Conviction,” which won the Bronze Award, and the second for Outstanding Visual Effects in a Photoreal Episode for her work on the AMC series The Terror (Episode 101).
She also led a team of artists working on the revolutionary Paramount feature film GEMINI MAN for visionary director Ang Lee. That film also received a nomination for Best Visual Effects in a Photoreal Feature from the Visual Effects Society.
Over more than a decade. Lenka has worked alongside some of most well respected filmmakers in the industry and has been lauded by both her peers in the visual effects community and the celebrated filmmakers with whom she has collaborated; People like Francis Ford Coppola, Michael Mann, Robert Zemeckis, Denis Villeneuve, Neil Blomkamp, Bong Joon Ho, Ron Howard, and the aforementioned Ang Lee.
This is Lenka’s first time as a juror and she’s excited to reward those who are pushing the limits of the commercial medium and helping to shape the future of ads and other content.
