GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN // Mathias Appelblad serves as Senior Creative Partner at Forsman & Bodenfors in Sweden.
Forsman & Bodenfors has been among the top creative agencies in the world for the past decade, working with a wide range of clients as IKEA, Volvo Cars, Volvo Trucks, and SKII.
This is actually the second time Mathias works at Forsman & Bodenfors. He started his career there 18 years ago as an Art Director. Over the years he made his way to Senior Partner.
During is tenure, F&B rose to the ranks of being one of the world’s top digital agencies and in 2007 the Gunn Report named F&B the #3 most awarded digital agency worldwide.
Before boomeranging back to Forsman & Bodenfors in 2015, he held creative leadership positions at several leading US agencies.
Most recently at TBWA/Media Arts Lab in Los Angeles, where he worked on the Apple account (trivia: his last name literally translates to Apple Leaf).
Prior to Media Arts Lab he worked at Deutsch LA, and BBDO NY where he oversaw integrated and digital creative, and worked to drive innovation and strengthen the work across all the agency’s accounts. He also served on the Board of Directors of BBDO North America.
During his career, Mathias has created, worked on and led iconic work for brands such as Apple, VW, AT&T, FedEx, HBO, GE, Gillette, Volvo Cars and IKEA. Many of his campaigns have gone on to win several of the industry’s highest accolades, including; Clio, D&AD, The One Show, and Cannes Lions, where his campaign for Volvo XC90 garnered a Grand Prix.
His work for IKEA “Dream Kitchen for Everyone” was named one of the 10 best digital pieces of the decade by the One Show. Mathias is also a Creativity 50 honoree.
