BOGOTA, COLOMBIA // Mauricio has been with Leo Burnett since 2002. In 2015 he was promoted to Chief Creative Officer.

Born and raised in Colombia, he studied Advertising at the Politécnico Grancolombiano in Bogotá. He worked in local agencies from 1999 to 2001, when he began his career at Leo Burnett Colombia. During 2005 he had the opportunity to work at Leo Burnett’s office in Guatemala, and in 2007 he worked at Leo Burnett Perú. 2010 would be decisive in his career, as he assumed the role of General Creative Director of Leo Burnett Colombia.

He’s had the chance to work for several international accounts like: Coca-Cola, P&G, DirecTV, DIAGEO, Toyota, Movistar, Carrefour, Samsung, Kelloggs, McDonalds, Falabella, and the WWF. He has also worked for different local accounts like Banco Davivienda, Seguros Bolívar, Alpina, Liga Cancer Bogotá, Alianza Team and Papeles nacionales, amongst others.

In his career he has received important awards in different Advertising Festivals like: Cannes, London Festival, Clio, One Show, New York Festival, El Sol, Fiap, Ojo de Iberoamérica, Wave, APAP, El Dorado and Nova.

Mauricio has served as juror in festivals like: New York Festival, El Ojo de Iberoamérica, FIAP, Wave Festival, Young Lions, Festival de Antigua and now Clio Awards.

In 2014 he received the first Grand Prix of Cannes Lions Health in the history of Colombia with the campaign Cancer Tweets, developed for the Bogota’s Cancer League.
