NEW YORK, USA // Sean is a 25+ year marketing veteran having worked in positions of increasing responsibility on the agency side until joining ESPN in May 2000.
Prior to joining ESPN, Sean worked at Tracy Locke. His last position there was as Executive Concept Director of an innovative think tank called the Department of Ideas. Before that he was the head of client services on the Pepsi business where he was responsible for the strategic and creative development of major national promotions such as Pepsi’s tie-in with Star Wars: Episode One and The Pepsi Challenge.
During his tenure at ESPN Customer Marketing and Sales, Sean has had a track record of success and increasing responsibility. In 2004, Sean was appointed to the Senior Management team leading the reorganization of the Customer Marketing and Sales division as it assumed the multi-media responsibility of managing the digital and print sales groups as well as television. As a result, Sean was named Senior Vice President, Marketing Solutions and in 2006 assumed responsibility for the entire multi-media marketing department of this division which is comprised of five groups:
Digital/Magazine/Television Sales Marketing – develops sponsorship and customized advertiser integration opportunities within each respective media –including social programs as well.
Creative Works –in-house promotion/advertising agency that develops unique multi-media marketing programs for advertisers, which can range from co-branded advertising to custom content.
Sport Management – develops fully integrated sponsorship opportunities across all sports and media platforms while also managing our relationships with various league partners like the NBA, NFL and MLB.
Sponsorship Activation – creates and executes various sponsored activations/events that can range from a tailgate festival at the College Football Playoff to the ESPN The Party at the Super Bowl.
In November, 2015, Sean added the responsibility of leading the Consumer Marketing team who is responsible for driving awareness, tune-in and usage with fans across all of ESPN’s platforms. This group has lead the development of award winning campaigns like “This is SportsCenter” and by being more closely aligned with Marketing Solutions is creating even more value for ESPN’s advertising clients.
Sean is an avid sports fan and a graduate of LaSalle University. He resides in Bucks County, PA with his wife and three children.
