NEW YORK, USA // Sono Mitchell is the Vice President of Program Marketing and Advertising at HBO. Sono oversees the consumer marketing strategy and print development for HBO series, Comedy specials, Sports and Late Night. In her role she is responsible for the overall strategic direction of consumer marketing initiatives and promotions (inclusive of TV, Digital, Print, OOH) in addition to working with a number of external agencies to develop key art. She has worked on a number of high profile campaigns during her 8 year tenure at HBO and has successfully launched tent pole programs such as Boardwalk Empire, Girls, and True Detective. Prior to joining HBO, Sono worked as the Director of Marketing at Comedy Central, in addition to working at advertising agencies such as Kirshenbaum Bond in NYC and Butler, Shine and Stern in San Francisco.
Sono graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and currently lives in Brooklyn, NY with her family.
