LOS ANGELES, USA // After graduating from the Savannah College of Art & Design, Todd began his professional career at MCA Records where his creativity inspired the designs of innovative packaging and image campaigns for numerous rock legends. In 2000, Todd founded and continues to function as the CEO and Creative Director of the highly regarded Los Angeles based agency Meat and Potatoes, Inc. While operating the boutique agency continues to keep Todd’s plate full, when time allows,he returns to his roots by continuing his album design work for a select few.
Todd’s iconic creations have earned an impressive list of awards; graced the pages of print design annuals throughout the world; and, in 2012 garnered a Grammy® Award nomination for Best Recording Package. Todd has led strategic rebranding efforts for the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas to re-imagine its physical space and amenity offerings to position the Hard Rock Hotel brand for future expansion. In addition, Todd’s passion for communication design and the food that sustained him through his college years have merged recently with M+P’s client,Taco Bell, as he developed consumer touch-point branding and packaging initiatives that strengthened the brand’s positioning & relationship with consumers.
Through M&P Todd leads a highly specialized multi-company collaborative product strategy & innovation team as Creative Director for the concept and development of new brand innovations and brand extension products for Bacardi Limited, Campari America and others.
He is an active 15-year member of the Recording Academy of Arts & Sciences (The Grammys®), and has held a seat on the juror panel for the Key Art Awards. Todd has shared his passion for design through teaching developing minds Typography, Technical Design, and Packaging Design classes at The Otis College of Design, and the Art Center for Design in Pasadena, as well as hosting M+P studio tours, college portfolio reviews and lectures for design students at Cal State Northridge (CSUN). He is passionate about his involvement mentoring and providing internships for aspiring designers enrolled at Cleveland High School’s
AOAT program for the arts. Todd has recently been invited to return to The Savannah College of Art & Design as the 2014-2015 design department mentor for a series of lectures and teachings.
Todd has personally worked with a diverse array of clients. Iconic artists such as Neil Diamond, Prince, David Lynch, Sammy Hagar, Alanis Morissette, Allison Krauss, Eva Longoria, Sergio Mendes, Natalie Cole, Howie Mandel, Quincy Jones, Sublime, Joe Satriani, and Tommy Lee. Also, notable brands including SKYY Vodka, Bacardi, Cabo Wabo Tequila, Campari America, Taco Bell, Levi’s, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas, the Palms Resort & Casino; entertainment
powerhouses such as FOX, FX, Warner Bros., Capitol Records, Interscope, NBC/Universal, and the Walt Disney Company; literary heavyweights including Harper Collins, Random House, Simon & Schuster; and, Celebrity chefs Wolfgang Puck, Guy Fieri, Todd English and Tyler Florence.
