NEW YORK, USA // Valerie Lasser found her start 20 years ago at Big Sky Editorial, a state of the art film-editing boutique in Manhattan. She landed the job after earning her BA from NYIT in just 3 years time and started right in as an assistant editor. Soon she was taking on her own projects including audio mixing and radio spots with her knack for sound design, and recording. Today as a Senior Editor she cuts ads, music videos, and various indie projects. Recently she has done various content for the GLAAD Media Awards show, as well as PSA's. Winner at the 2011 AICE Awards in New/Alternative/Emerging Media, led to more and more documentary style projects including Elizabeth Arden’s “Her Story” web content, Verizon’s “Potential Of Us” campaign, and Novartis “Worldwide”. As a creative partner with Ogilvy, Valerie cut American Express ad “Members Projects” which explored the history of the brand utilizing footage from 50 years of archives. Feature film work includes "Eavesdrop", available on Netflix, and Sound Editor on the feature documentary "Comedian" starring Jerry Seinfeld.
“I have had a life long passion for the craft of editing, and could not be more grateful for the collaborative environment and mentoring I got so early on right out of college by teaming up with Chris Franklin at Big Sky Editorial.” – Valerie Lasser
