LONDON, UK // Starting his musical career as an artist in London’s experimental scene, Vik sought to help his friends earn a living from their creations. Born from this compassionate desire, Elephant was founded in 2012 and began by helping a small collective of musicians, underground bands, and composers land sync placements in ads and TV programs. Having moved to LA in 2012, Vik noticed a significant gap in the trailer music market. Elephant released their first trailer-driven album that same year, which established their signature sound and cemented its position as a key player in the global trailer music market, with offices in London and New York.
Despite its boutique size and ethos, Elephant’s work can be found on trailers for global franchises such as Game of Thrones, John Wick, Mission Impossible, Fast and Furious and Assasin’s Creed. Elephant productions have earned numerous awards, including Production Music Awards, Golden Trailer Awards, and Clio awards. Notably, multi-academy-award-winning Everything Everywhere All At Once won a Clio Grand award in 2022, featuring music from the Elephant catalog.
Alongside Elephant, Vik’s prolific entrepreneurship has led to him founding a publishing company (Split Music), a record label (Subtle Energy) and a brewery and taproom (Mammoth Beer). With developing and nurturing creative talent at the heart of his business strategies, Vik was also involved in creating an online academy for trailer composers, and frequently leads industry panels at international conferences, sharing his expertise on the past, present and future of sync and publishing.
