SAO PAULO, BRAZIL // When I was a kid, I used to have two passions: Science and Arts (also Judo, but it won’t help telling my story). And somehow, advertising brings me these two things together. However, it wasn't where I've started. My first job was as illustrator in the textile industry. Shortly after, I began designing sets for TV programs; then I became a video and movie editor, moved on to become a TV Art Director, then a Movie Art Director's Assistant and even a Documentary Director… but not all in that order. Because of that, and also for some other reasons, I don’t really consider myself an ad man.
Instead, I prefer to think of myself as a Creative professional, who found in advertising a way to do what most have interested me since I was a child.
I joined advertising almost by accident. It was 2008 and I needed money to finish my film studies in London. I applied for a job in an advertising agency presenting a tape that included video arts, documentaries and opening credits for TV shows… a little bit of everything. And just like that, I had the job. Even I found it hard to believe. And in no time, I fell in love with the profession. I found out that all the experiences I had had until then fit perfectly in my job description. I haven't left it since.
I moved to São Paulo in 2001 to work at TBWA. It was where I won my first Cannes Lions. I later worked at JWT, DM9DDB, Almap BBDO and other remarkable agencies where I had the privilege to work close to genius professionals, such as Sérgio Valente and Marcello Serpa.
I am very honored to have being awarded in the most prestigious Festivals such as Clio, Cannes, D&AD, Art Directors and had the opportunity to work for global brands campaigns for Fedex, Volkswagen, Nivea, Pepsi, Unilever, Nissan, among others.
I joined FCB at the end of 2012, where I am currently VP Creative Director. Since then, we were awarded with 8 Clios, including 2 Golds, 20 Lions at Cannes Festival and one of them is the first Brazilian Mobile Grand Prix. It has made me the world's 5th most awarded Creative Director, according to The Big Won Report 2014.
