TOKYO, JAPAN // Seiya Matsumiya is the co-founder and CEO of Black Cat White Cat Music. His journey in music began in the early 2000s amidst the dynamic music scene of Southern California. After studying at Berklee College of Music, he returned to Los Angeles to pursue a career as an artist, performing with renowned musicians like Flea, Cat Power, and Maroon 5, while simultaneously building a career in music for film, television, and advertising.

In 2018, Seiya and his sister, composer Aska Matsumiya, established Black Cat White Cat Music in Tokyo. Since its inception, the company has produced music for global advertising campaigns, garnering prestigious awards such as the Cannes Lions and CICLOPE Berlin, and earning the title of Music Company of the Year in 2020. Black Cat White Cat Music has since broadened its focus to include film and series, notably contributing to the A24 film After Yang in 2022 and multiple productions for major streaming platforms in the U.S. and Japan. When outside of Tokyo, Seiya spends his time in the scenic coastal city of Kobe.
