ST. PETERSBURG, USA // Warren Hypes was named Vice President, Creative & Brand in January 2023 & enters his 15th season with the Tampa Bay Rays. In this role, he oversees all internal and external creative content and branding efforts, as well as strategic design paths for all Rays marketing campaigns, on-field uniform initiatives and player-driven content pieces. Warren has been instrumental in the planning and execution of the club’s 20th and 25th anniversary season celebrations, as well as the 2024 design and launch of the Rays City Connect uniform program.
He joined the Rays as an intern in the marketing department, where he made an immediate impact on the visual communications of the team. He was named Rays co-Employee of the Year in 2015 and was recognized as an Under 40 Up & Comer by the Tampa Bay Business Journal in 2017. During his tenure with the Rays, Warren has ascended to roles of increased responsibility, eventually designing, developing, and managing the largest in-house creative team in Major League Baseball.
Hypes earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing and communications from West Virginia University. Originally from Princeton, WV, his stepfather, Jim Holland, was the general manager of the Princeton Reds and Princeton Rays for 25 years. Hypes is a proud board member of Ronald McDonald House Charities Tampa Bay and resides in St. Petersburg with his wife, Brittany, and loveable Shiba Inu, Saki.
