LONDON, UK // Olly Wood is a Creative Director at McCann London.
Born and raised in South East England, Olly started his career in the design industry before discovering a passion for the influential power of conceptual thinking in advertising.
His work has raised substantial funds for medical aid in war-torn regions and launched the music career of an unknown artist. He has developed cutting-edge technology that integrates interactive video with telephony. Additionally, he enabled the transfer of Brazilian World Cup winner Roberto Carlos to a Sunday League pub team in Shrewsbury and created an esport tournament in a scorching 150°F chamber, pushing gamers to their physical and mental limits.
Olly believes that impactful work should shape culture, engage and spark conversations, and continuously innovate the ways we tell stories to our audiences.
His contributions have been recognised by major award shows, including The Clios, Cannes Lions, D&AD, Creative Circle and The Webby Awards. His projects have also garnered attention from international news outlets, even making front-page printed news on Christmas Day.
Olly continues to support his alma mater, the School of Communication Arts (SCA), through regular mentoring and guest lectures. As a judge for the D&AD New Blood Awards, Olly is passionate about nurturing junior talent in the industry.
