Ali Rez
Creative Director
FP7/DXB McCann

DUBAI, UAE //  Ali Rez started as a Physics undergraduate before ending up in advertising in San Francisco, where – when not involved in mountain biking accidents - he spent more than a decade working on global brands such as Adobe, 7UP, ChevronTexaco and HP.

In quest for adventure, Ali moved to the Middle East, and quickly became one of the most prolific award winners in the region, collecting more than 75 metals in under two years, including double Gold Lions at Cannes 2015, and the only 2015 Clio Outdoor Gold awarded to an agency in Asia. This year Ali has been ranked amongst the top 15 creative directors in the world by the Big Won report.

Ali’s career accolades include D&AD and OneShow pencils, Effies, LIA, New York Festivals, Dubai Lynx, Communication Arts, AdStars, Spikes Asia, and the one that is still most dear to him: a Gold awarded by Hal Riney at the San Francisco Show. His work against drone warfare - "Not A Bug Splat" - has been featured at art galleries such as Tate UK, and has won a United Nations Peace prize. Ali's creative leadership resulted in BBDO Pakistan being named Agency of the Year by Campaign magazine, before he moved on to Effie Agency of the Year FP7 in Dubai.

Ali has spoken at Tedx, lectured at several universities, played cricket for California, and, being a firm believer that curiousity leads to creativity, has traveled to 102 countries - including North Korea on Kim Il-Sung's private plane.
