LONDON, UK // Currently leading a team of award winning art directors and commercial visual trend forecasters Paul’s background as a fine art photorealist painter, articulated truck driver and student of psychology & philosophy at Oxford has guaranteed an unconventional and highly creative journey.
Having worked as an art director for eight years, Paul won numerous awards including those from the Art Directors Club of New York, Communication Arts and Photo District News (PDN).
As Senior Director, Creative Content, Getty Images Paul leads a global team of art directors who conceptualize and implement shoots in collaboration with photographers and videographers across Europe, America and Asia.
As part of this role Paul also leads the Creative Research team who set the content strategy for Getty Images, through researching and analyzing trends in visual communication. This knowledge also informs the forecasting featured in the annual Getty Images Creative In Focus book and enables the team to consult with key clients on the visualization of their brands and businesses.
Recognizing the power of imagery to affect real change in people’s perceptions, the Creative Research team has recently forged several significant partnerships: In 2014 with LeanIn.Org (Sheryl Sandberg’s non-profit) the Lean In Collection was launched, breaking gender stereotypes an promoting equality through imagery: The No Apologies Collection (with Refinery29) to promote images of body positivity: The Muslim Girl Collection (with muslimgirl.com): Sporting Women (with The Women’s Sport Trust) and Glass Magazine (in partnership with JWT Intelligence) featuring research, insights and imagery around the future of women.
Paul’s background also includes sales development, practice as a fine artist and several years on the road as a truck driver. He graduated from Oxford University in Psychology and Philosophy after completing an arts foundation course. He lives in London and is a mentor for the Aspire Foundation.
