NASCAR

CHARLOTTE, USA // Jill Gregory, NASCAR Senior Vice President of Marketing and Industry Services, is an accomplished industry veteran with a wealth of knowledge and world-class sports marketing experience from the client, agency and sports property perspective.

Gregory has led NASCAR’s Industry Services department since joining the sanctioning body in July 2007. This group is comprised of Team Marketing Services, Event Marketing Services, Industry Operations and Driver Marketing Services.

In 2015, Gregory also assumed leadership of NASCAR Marketing. In this very important and expanded role, she oversees all Brand Marketing initiatives designed to reach and engage avid fans, as well as cultivate new fans among millennial, youth and Hispanic audiences.

She leads Social Media as NASCAR has elevated its focus on fan engagement across social platforms, and also manages Marketing and Media Research and NASCAR Creative Design.

In addition, Gregory oversees the Driver Star Power (DSP) platform, which includes driver brand development, content strategy and driver communications; and the Event Experience platform, which includes the at-track experience for children and Hispanic fans, as well as event entertainment.  She has been one of the key driving forces in NASCAR’s overall business strategy, which is aimed at affecting long-term growth and creating value on critical industry fronts.

Prior to joining NASCAR, Gregory was Senior Vice President of Motorsports Marketing for Bank of America, where she negotiated the bank’s entry into NASCAR and established sponsorship relationships with NASCAR, teams and tracks in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

Before taking her position at Bank of America, Gregory was Director of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series marketing program for Sprint NEXTEL, managing all elements of the re-branding of the NASCAR Winston Cup Series to the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series, as well as the marketing programs around the entitlement of NASCAR’s top racing series. During that time, she built and managed the cross-functional team responsible for the overall launch and management of the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series program.

Gregory was selected as a winner of the annual Charlotte Business Journal “Women in Business Awards” in 2013 for her achievement in business and the community. In 2011, she was named to the inaugural class of “Game Changers: Women in Sports Business” by SportsBusiness Journal and SportsBusiness Daily — a national honor that recognizes women who bring ideas, solutions and perspectives to the sports business. She has also been featured in publications such as Marie Claire and Bizwomen, part of The Business Journals’ family of publications.

Gregory earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, Calif. She is a current member of the Board of Directors for The NASCAR Foundation and was the 2015 Corporate Walk Chair for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Charlotte Light The Night Walk.
