Bess is a highly respected executive and represents the next generation of leadership at American Express. Over the course of her twenty-year career at the company, Bess has held various brand strategy and product marketing positions. She is valued for her ability to drive business growth while bringing a keen external perspective that helps her teams understand the needs of GenZ and millennial consumers. She brings this perspective to her current role overseeing the U.S. Centurion, Platinum, Gold, Green, and Amex EveryDay products, as well as the Membership Rewards program and premium events. In this role she is dedicated to enhancing membership and delivering more value for Card Members through products, services and experiences that are unmatched in the market.

Previously, Bess spent three years as SVP of Global Brand Media and Experiences, where she led media planning and oversaw the brand’s sponsorship of Wimbledon and other high-profile events, including the award-winning UNSTAGED music series, for which she was recognized as a 2022 Billboard Women in Music Executive. Diversity and inclusivity are special areas of interest for Spaeth, which she has cultivated via longstanding involvement in American Express’ Annual Global Women’s Conference and as executive sponsor of the company’s New York PRIDE+ colleague network.

Before joining American Express, Bess worked in advertising at Ammirati Puris Lintas and Revlon. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from SUNY Binghamton and an MBA from New York University.
