CHICAGO, IL // Kristin Petersen is an innovative disruptor and a strategic champion – for her teams and for the long-term client relationships she leads at global PR agency Weber Shandwick – and a results-driven leader who prioritizes team culture and inclusivity. Runner-up for Campaign US’ 2024 Account Person of the Year, Kristin guided the Kellogg/Kellanova team on a four-year journey to create outsized levels of fame and cultural attention for iconic brands, including Pop-Tart’s “The First Edible Mascot,” which placed Pop-Tarts at the center of the 2023 college football Bowl season – and the snacking conversation – as the first edible mascot was born, then eaten, at the 2023 Pop-Tarts Bowl. The campaign earned a Grand Clio in Experience/Activation – Events and a Grand Prixat Cannes in the Brand Experience & Activation category.

Kristin is all about world-class creative, having worked across CPG, retail, QSR and tech, and she now also serves as the North America Food and Beverage Sector Lead at Weber Shandwick. Her love of story was shaped by her role as a journalist as an anchor/reporter at the NBC affiliate in Traverse City, Michigan. Outside of work, Kristin is in her second year as a Chicago board member of Humble Design, a national nonprofit that provides design services, furniture and everything that goes into turning a house into a home for families emerging from homelessness.
