LISBON, PORTUGAL // João Mescas is a young Portuguese creative born in a small fishing town. He worked as a shellfish farmer and designer before excelling as an art director in recent years. His career has taken him between Portugal and Spain, working at agencies such as Lola Barcelona, Y&R, Wunderman, and others, before joining Dentsu Creative Lisboa, where he has worked for the past three years. His portfolio spans a wide range of clients and includes several campaigns that have earned awards at major international festivals, from Cannes Lions to One Show, as well as D&AD, LIA, and Clio, where he has won multiple metals, including a Grand Prix.

As a judge at Clio Sports, he sees similarities between creativity and extreme sports, particularly in their courage and willingness to take risks.
