MUNICH, GERMANY // Paul Jax is a German film director, producer, and entrepreneur whose path blends creativity with thoughtful leadership. Born in Freiburg close to the Black Forest, he built his career in Munich, where he co-founded the production company We Make Them Wonder at just 23 years old, together with his long-time collaborator and Director of Photography, Niclas Löffler. From the beginning, his aim was less about making individual films and more about building a creative environment, one that connects cinematic storytelling with brand narratives. This approach has led to collaborations with clients like VW, Porsche, FC Bayern, and DHL, where emotion and precision come together naturally. Under his direction, We Make Them Wonder has developed into a close-knit team of around twelve permanent team members, expanding as needed for large scale and international productions. Their work often moves fluidly between commercial and cinematic territories. A notable example is the Ottobock documentary series New Boundaries, a portrait of human resilience created with sincerity and empathy. More recently, Paul and the team received three Cannes Lions and recognition at Ciclope Berlin and Shots Awards for their short film Milk — a recognition that underscores their shared commitment to meaningful filmmaking.
