Mel has garnered a multitude of accolades throughout their career. Most notably, he has been recognized by esteemed global award programs, such as Cannes, LIA, MM&M, D&AD, Clio, Art Director’s Club, and Andy’s. These awards are a testament to his industry-wide influence and their unwavering dedication to excellence in their field. Shamel is best known for his book on racial justice and mental called “The ABC’s of Survival”, and disruptive “No Kids” in Cages” guerrilla campaign. Recently Mel, along with illustrator Chidiebere Ibe, launched an open source library of medical illustrations with melanated skin.
