HONG KONG // Born and bred in the UK, Paul stumbled into advertising in 1999.

His first big break came at DDB—where he had the blessing and the curse of working on one of the world’s most prestigious accounts, Volkswagen. Luckily, his first print work was rewarded with a Gold statue at London International and recognition at D&AD’s inaugural Global Congress.

He then went on to win at every other show that matters—with 10 campaign lions at Cannes, multiple pencils at both D&AD and The One Show, Clio statues, numerous AdFest Golds, Gold Effies, Gold at New York Festivals, Best of Shows and multiple Golds at Kam Fan, Gold at Times Asia and lots of shiny Spikes, Ad Stars, Epica, Longxi, Award Awards and Webby gongs.

Most notably, his Freshlock and Westone campaigns were instrumental in making DDB the most awarded Hong Kong agency at Cannes, Spikes and AdFest for two years in a row. During this period, Paul was ranked the No.1 most awarded creative in Hong Kong by Campaign magazine.

Then in 2012, Paul took up the creative helm at Cheil and has already helped the agency score its first-ever Kam Fan Grand Prix, 3 Cannes Lions, 3 D&AD Pencils (including 2 Graphite Pencils at the inaugural D&AD Impact Awards), 3 Silver One Show Pencils, AdFest Gold, a winner’s gong at the Webbys and multiple metals at Spikes, London International, Epica, Ad Stars, Award Awards, New York Festivals and the Effies.

Under his creative leadership, Cheil is currently the 2nd highest-ranked Hong Kong agency in Campaign Brief Asia’s Creative Rankings for 2016, and the No.1 performing Hong Kong agency in Campaign Brief’s THE WORK 2017—with Paul ranked the No.1 creative in Hong Kong and 10th across Asia Pacific.

Paul has judged at every major award show, including: Cannes, D&AD, The One Show, London International Awards, Clio, AdFest, New York Festivals, Longxi Nova and Citra Pariwara.

Beyond his passion for the business, Paul is married with a beautiful wife and two very loud kids, none of whom give a flying hoot about his shiny gongs.
