AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS // After business school Marcel starts his career in marketing research and mediaplanning. Because he wants to work in the creative department he graduates again, in advertising this time, from the Academy of Visual Arts in Rotterdam, meanwhile writing reports for Playboy magazine.

He starts working as a copywriter for Result DDB, then moves to PMSvW Y&R to become creative director at 31. Next stop is N=5, where he is creative partner.

When Publicis Amsterdam asks him, together with his team mate Jeroen van Zwam, to help increase its creative performance, he doesn't hesitate. In 2014 Marcel is appointed ECD for the Publicis Groupe Netherlands and member of the Publicis Worldwide creative board. Summer 2015 he joins JWT Amsterdam as co-ECD, together with Bas Korsten.

Marcel has won several national and international prizes, amongst which 8 Lions in Cannes, 8 Effies, 3 Clios and the Grand Prix at the New York Festivals, and was a jury member at various award shows.
