NEW YORK, USA // As Director, Global Head of Music Marketing at Spotify, Amanda Butler is responsible for spearheading the company’s promotional strategy around new and existing music content and activating cultural moments to drive audience growth, engagement and brand love. In this role, Amanda and her team of Music Marketing and Experiential Marketing Managers have been instrumental in delivering hundreds of artist marketing campaigns, 50+ experiential activations around the world.

In addition, they oversee the marketing for flagship playlist brands like RapCaviar, Viva Latino, Baila Reggaeton, Hot Country, Pollen, and more across all consumer touchpoints and most recently the relaunch of global content brand New Music Friday and global marketing efforts for Spotify’s emerging artist program RADAR.

Amanda and her team partner closely with cross functional teams to support notable cultural moments including Spotify House of Are&Be at Essence Fest, CMA Fest and now in its fourth year Spotify’s Best New Artist campaign which celebrated Billie Eilish, Lizzo, Rosalía and many more. Prior to this role Amanda was the Global Assoc. Brand Director of Artist and Content Marketing at Spotify leading a creative cross functional workstream supporting various artists including Drake, 2 Chainz, Ariana Grande, Luke Combs, Kelsea Ballerini and countless artists and podcasters around the world.

As a true enthusiast of music and culture, for several years Amanda has led Spotifys’ year-round commitment in celebrating and amplifying creators of color, with its Black History is Now platform featuring original content from artists Pharrell Williams and Janelle Monàe, partnered with women across various creative disciplines to reinterpret the Black Girl Magic playlist as a new multimedia experience, Black Girl Magic dinner series, and partnered with the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture in 2019. In 2020 Amanda led a team of 50 employees to launch its largest campaign to date, Black History is Now presents Phenomenal Black Music , celebrating Lizzo, Janet Jackson, Mary J. Blidge, Lil Nas X, Kirk Franklin and more.

Prior to joining Spotify in 2017, Amanda has held various marketing positions leading brand and integrated marketing efforts for some of the world’s most notable companies and brands - Red Bull, Beats by Dr. Dre at Apple and Microsoft. She has established and grown teams across Brand Marketing, Product Management, and Product Marketing disciplines for a wide range of industries in tech, consumer electronics, consumer packaged goods, sports and music.

This proud Brooklyn native has earned a Bachelor of Sciences from Hampton University, an M.B.A. from Emory University, Goizueta Business School and is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Amanda currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.
