SAN FRANCISCO, USA // Since joining 2K, one of the world’s premiere video game developer and publishing labels, in 2018 as Chief Marketing Officer, Melissa Bell has successfully focused the company’s marketing efforts to drive brand growth and engagement.
At 2K, Bell has helped bring brand cohesion to scale, with 14 studios across 27 locations globally and publishing offices in California, London, Singapore, Japan, Korea, Shanghai, Germany, Australia and Dublin, and more expansion in the works. Leveraging her two decades of consumer marketing experience, Bell has instilled a player-centric marketing vision that allows consumers to connect, create, express, and engage.
Under Bell’s leadership, 2K has transformed their marketing approach to deliver innovative and creative marketing strategies that build a deeper connection to players. Bell develops and oversees the tactical marketing strategies for 2K’s extensive portfolio of titles including NBA 2K, WWE 2K, Borderlands, PGA TOUR 2K, Bioshock, Mafia, Civilization and the recently launched LEGO 2K Drive.
Bell joined 2K from the automotive industry, where she amplified many of today’s most popular car brands, including INFINITI, Volkswagen Group, Volvo, and Jaguar. Additionally, Bell worked at several advertising and marketing agencies in leadership positions, serving as general manager for Wunderman China and Client Services Director at Publicis, Shanghai.
Bell has been named one of Ad Age’s “Women to Watch” and Adweek’s “Women Trailblazers” and has won numerous awards including PMAA Gold and Bronze, Automotive Campaign of the Year for Volvo, Bronze Lion, Golden Pencil, and Australian Young Director Marketer of the Year.
