PARIS, FRANCE // Alberto has been part of Consumer Healthcare at Sanofi since July 2020, joining initially as the US Category Head for Pain & Sleep, before taking on the global role of Chief Growth Officer on 1st January 2022.

He has nearly two decades of international brand marketing leadership and general management experience, with expertise in disruptive innovation and e-commerce and a proven track record of driving year-on-year business growth and sales turnaround.

Alberto’s multi-cultural career has been spent building iconic brands in global and start up company settings across Europe, Latin America, and the US, as well as taking on a breadth of roles spanning country, regional, and global accountabilities.

Before joining Sanofi, Alberto was the Chief Marketing and Innovation Officer of Dyla Brands (US Start-up backed by KDP), where he accelerated growth and notably, implemented innovation and communication strategies that doubled the company’s revenue in 12 months. Prior to this, he spent 17 years at Nestle across business, where his last role was Vice President of Marketing for the Gerber Brand in the US.

Leveraging his previous experience in FMCG, Alberto has catalyzed Sanofi Consumer Healthcare’s transition from pharmaceutical company to FMCH (Fast Moving Consumer Health) and elevated the business beyond its category by putting brand, simplicity, creativity, and purpose at its heart.

He has evolved the marketing organization for accelerated growth by strengthening marketing and commercial capabilities (i.e., e2e XP, E-commerce acceleration, Gen AI development, advanced analytics, among others). He has also embedded sustainability in brand-building, with a focus on driving purposeful brands that make an impact to both society and planet. Alberto is co-leading progress to achieve B Corp Certification for all CHC, starting with the recent B Corp Certification for the North America region.

Alberto’s marketing work have been trending topics in social media on several occasions. Under his leadership, Brand Building award wins have increased by 437% in 2022 vs. the previous year. He also sits as a Leadership member of the ANA Global CMO Growth Council.

As a former graffiti artist, he likes to tackle new roles boldly and courageously to deliver powerful storytelling about purposeful brands – especially those that nudge behavior change and empower self-care.

Having relocated to Paris after living internationally for nearly 15 years, Alberto is re discovering the joy of cross-country family road trips across Europe and further bonding his two US-born young children, Amelia and Lucas, to his Spanish heritage.
