SANTA MONICA, USA // Tyler Bahl is a marketing leader who drives change through digital media and innovation. As Activision's Senior Vice President and Head of Global Marketing, Bahl has transformed the organization by instilling a community-first mindset across marketing, social media, and analytics for the world's best-selling video game franchise, Call of Duty. Before Activision, Bahl led brand and title marketing for the entertainment start-up Quibi and spent six years leading brand marketing for Google's consumer apps organization, including products such as Search, Assistant Photos, Maps, and Duo. Before Google, he led brand engagement at Reebok and communication strategy at Carat.
Bahl's innovative approach has led Activision to win over 42 advertising awards, the most in its history, for campaigns and projects such as 'Warzone in Paradise,' 'Hidden Spots,' 'Mystery Sniper,' and 'Vanguards of Photography.' The Call of Duty Vanguard launch was Webby's "People's Voice Winner for Best Social Gaming Experience" and won a Shorty Award for "Best Games Activation." In addition, the brand's collaboration with Heinz won The One Show's "Best of Discipline Interactive, Online, and Mobile".
Tyler is also advancing DE&I throughout the organization and the gaming world. He has led Activision to highlight creators outside of gaming, starting with its campaign for Modern Warfare II. The campaign featured an interview with Elliott Knight, a Black LGBTQ actor, on the subject of representation in gaming, which received 1.7M views on TikTok alone. To date, Tyler has changed the makeup of the global marketing team, now with over 50% of the team being from underrepresented ethnic groups.
Outside of Activision, Tyler is passionate about supporting the next generation of marketers. He is on the board of advisors for Loyola Marymount University M-School and Northeastern University's D'Amore-McKim School of Business' Marketing Track program.
Tyler has 20 years of marketing experience.
