NEW YORK, USA // As a creative director, Alex naturally has a magnificent eye and a masterful touch. His more exceptional talent though, is the ability to bring the heritage of a classic brand forward to a modern consumer, both visually and strategically. This talent is apparent in the iconic advertising campaigns he has created for clients such as Brioni and Brooks Brothers.

It was also at the heart of his success at Flair Magazine where as creative director. He worked with the Mondadori Group to redesign and re-launch the magazine, turning it into the second best-selling fashion publication in Italy after Italian Vogue.

Prior to founding AR New York, Alex served as creative director of GQ and Mirabella. Moreover, on a special assignment for Condé Nast, he re-launched German Vogue, Manner Vogue, and L’Uomo Vogue, building a global reputation in the fashion community while forming alliances with top talent in the U.S. and abroad.

In February 2011, it was announced that Alex was hired as creative director of W Magazine. Since relaunching the magazine under Alex’s creative direction, the publication has enjoyed a remarkable growth in sales; with the September 2011 issue out-selling any other issue in W’s history.

Well-traveled and fluent in both Italian and Spanish, Alex brings a multi-cultural perspective to his work. His clients at AR have included Escada, Salvatore Ferragamo, Givenchy, Lanvin, Narciso Rodriguez, Nino Cerruti, Valentino, and Versace.

As a proud Cuban-American, Alex also serves on the board of El Museo del Barrio, New York’s leading Latino cultural institution. Here, he has been responsible for raising the profile of the museum and its activities through El Museo’s annual fundraising gala – a typically star-studded event dedicated to honoring those Latin Americans that have made an extraordinary contribution to the arts.
