PLAYA VISTA, USA // Ali Rivera joined Google in 2003 and YouTube in 2006, and oversees all Live Music initiatives for the company. She’s been the driving force in developing and leading efforts for thousands of global live stream campaigns including YouTube’s exclusive, 14+ year partnership with Coachella. She launched the first Coachella Live Music stream on YouTube in 2011, and has worked closely on building Coachella on YouTube into the legendary experience it is today. Under Ali’s leadership, while the world was locked down in Covid, her team executed some of the most meaningful live events in YouTube’s history including Andrea Bocelli’s Music For Hope record breaking live stream, Global Citizen Together at Home, Post Malone’s Nirvana Tribute, and a partnership with National Independent Venue Association (NIVA) to launch a 3-day Music Festival #SaveOurStages Fest that raised over $2M for NIVA’s Emergency Relief Fund and helped advocate for the passing of the $2B Save our Stages Act. This year, Ali and her team stepped in on LA Fire Relief efforts, including supporting the FireAid Benefit concert, helping raise over $100M for LA Fire Relief efforts.
In her role, Ali also oversees a team of artist relations partner managers and spearheads YouTube’s dedicated Artist Programs, crucial for nurturing talent and connecting artists with their audiences. Foundry is an innovative artist development program specifically designed to support independent artists. Through mentorship, resources, and strategic guidance, Foundry empowers these artists to build their careers, expand their reach, and maximize their potential on YouTube. YouTube Music Nights, on the other hand, focuses on creating exclusive and intimate fan experiences. These events provide unique opportunities for artists to connect directly with their most dedicated fans. Both programs underscore YouTube’s commitment to supporting artists at various stages of their careers and building fandom between artists and their fans
