NEW YORK, USA // Meghan Hickey is an award-winning SVP Creative Director at 21GRAMS with over 14 years of experience in the advertising industry. She has made it her mission to make healthcare advertising something people actually want to watch and interact with – and not just the ugly stepchild of the industry. Throughout her career, Meghan has brought empathy, authenticity, and even sometimes a bit of humor to every campaign she touches. Whether it’s helping people with cystic fibrosis breathe better through laughter (The Laugh it Up Campaign), helping to spread awareness of a rare disease through a 90s nostalgia comedy series (The Science Guy: Back in the Lab for FA), or even helping to educate people with Friedreich Ataxia about a new medication by bringing back its founder from the dead (The Friedreich’s Back Campaign), just to name a few – Meghan believes in digging for that one insight that will truly make the audience connect with the brand and feel something from the work.

Beyond the office Meghan is a standup comedian and comedy writer. Her love of comedy and entertainment often influences her work in advertising. She believes humor can break down barriers and make difficult subjects approachable (because who doesn’t love to laugh when life just sucks), and above all, being genuinely entertaining is the way to gain attention – even and especially when it comes to talking about health. Meghan’s work has earned a Gold Cannes Lion, several Clios, LIAs, and has been recognized by MM+M as industry inspiring. Meghan is a proud alumna of the Cannes Lions See It Be It program (class of 2018), was a member of the Creative LIAisons program at LIA (2019), and You can even catch her standup on Amazon Prime in the Turnpike Comedy Festival Series. Her most proud accomplishment is the birth of her daughter, Josie Rose – although performing at Gotham Comedy Club was also pretty cool.
