NEW YORK, USA // Rich is a celebrated Film Editor and co founder of Work Editorial with offices in London, New York and Los Angeles. With two years studying medicine, then a degree in Maths and a two year stint in the city he then realised none of this was satisfying his creative mind. He became a runner at the edit company NWH. Without ever being an assistant, Rich went straight into cutting music videos at night and in1995 became an editor there cutting both Music videos and Commercials. Moving to The Whitehouse in London in 2001, already an established and respected editor, allowed him to successfully pursue his career in the States on both sides of the Atlantic.
Rich has had major success and awards working closely with Directors and Creatives alike. He won the first Cannes Lions for Craft for editing in 2010 and then another Cannes Lion for editing in 2025, he has four yellow D&AD pencils, editing many Grand Prix Lions and successful campaigns, has continued to win at almost every awards show and been awarded Editor of the year numerous times at advertising award shows.
In 2006, along with editors Neil Smith, Bill Smedley and EP Jane Dilworth he opened the edit company WORK. They had a very simple vision: to found an egalitarian boutique edit house focused on talent and creativity. From the outset they were determined to do things differently. All partners were equal and edit fees were shared amongst all four creating a very special foundation that has made the business what it is, encouraging a shared commitment to doing great work. In 2012 WORK opened in New York and then after moving to the US in 2015, went onto open an LA office. Now joined by US partners Stewart Reeves, Ben Jordan and Charlie Harvey. Rich, along with his other WORK partners, continue to concentrate on craft and doing the best work possible. Now with 29 editors across the three officers and half of those coming up from runners and assistants, WORK continues to be at the forefront of creativity.
