The Emmy Award-winning "Abbott Elementary" is ABC’s hit comedy that takes place in an underfunded Philadelphia public school. It follows a group of passionate teachers, an enigmatic janitor, and a hilarious principal, trying their best despite the odds stacked against them.
ABC looked to celebrate "Abbott Elementary" Season 3 and invite returning fans and new viewers to tune into the February 7th premiere. ABC captured viewers' attention to drive tune-in for Season 3 with a 12,000-mile on-the-road tour with an Abbott Elementary gift swag bus, shaped like a gigantic school lunchbox. The truck crew travelled to five major U.S. cities over two weeks, going to schools and education centers. Teachers there received gifts in the form of Abbott Elementary-themed swag items, such as t-shirts, lunchboxes, snacks, and classroom supplies, which teachers are often required to pay for out of their own pockets in everyday circumstances. The tour worked to provide back to public educators a little of what they have offered children for decades - care and appreciation - while advertising that Abbott Elementary's focus, while humorous, is ultimately on the incredible work of teachers.
10k meals and school supplies were delivered to teachers at underserved schools nationwide. In partnership with DonorsChoose, Abbott also funded projects in classrooms along the tour route, focused on categories including STEM, Literacy & Language, DEI, and more. The tour also popped up at US landmarks along the route, surprising and delighting tourists at each stop.
