Beyond being stewards of football, the NFL uses its platform to uplift communities and drive positive change. One especially important community is young people across the country - grappling with isolation and mental health. The problem: many don’t have someone to guide them. Inspired by Reverend Jesse Jackson’s iconic words on Sesame Street, originally drawn from Reverend William Holmes Borders’ poem I Am Somebody, the NFL created a powerful :60-second film that spotlights the life-changing impact of mentorship. Set in Super Bowl LIX host city New Orleans, the film features NFL players in an emotional exchange of affirmations with real kids from partner organizations. As the “I am somebody” mantra builds, the kids light up with confidence, feeling seen, heard, and empowered. More than a PSA, it became a call to action - because every child can be somebody, if they have somebody to show them the way.
