“Goosebumps: The Vanishing” is the newest season of Disney’s thrilling “Goosebumps” anthology series on Hulu and Disney+. “Goosebumps: The Vanishing” begins with fraternal twins Devin and Cece adjusting to life with their recently divorced dad, Anthony. Disney's marketing campaign for the series included an immersive wall stunt experience that invited passersby to engage with it through a little bit of reverse psychology. A message painted on the wall instructed those who approached should stay out of the basement, with a mysterious door just below it, covered in caution tape. A doorbell daring people to ring the house, with a hidden camera to capture the terrified or nervous reactions of those who rang.
Ringers received a start as a growl emanated from the door, and shortly after, an actor costumed as a threatening creature jumped out. Influencers, as well as the "Goosebumps" cast themselves, attended the activation, sharing their experience online and generating buzz for the series and urging audiences to tune in to Disney+ and Hulu for "Goosebumps: The Vanishing."
The stunt generated over 301K impressions and 7.2K engagements on social media, with polled audiences reporting a 94% positive experience with the activation.
