Nissan believes in defying the ordinary by making experiences accessible to everyone. However, despite progress in recent years, barriers remain - from limited opportunities for disabled athletes, to ongoing homophobia in football. To challenge this Nissan partnered with creative agency Dark Horses and Amazon Ads to create Dare to Defy, a three-part Prime Video documentary released on International Day of Persons with Disabilities in 2024.
The series follows Paralympic champion Richard Whitehead MBE and marathon runner and LGBTQ+ advocate Adele Roberts as they explore the deeper meaning of inclusion across Formula E, equestrian, football, and running. Their journey culminates in the launch of Run to the Future, the first running event intentionally designed with disability and inclusion as a primary consideration.
